I agree with you that we're all raised, and subjected to, all kinds of prejudiced ideas. I'm white, but come from a sub-culture in my state (Cajun French) I'm married to an Arab; my first husband was Hispanic; my 2 best girlfriends are black; my favorite secretary was a gay male; I've worked for a Jewish lawyer for 15 yrs. To say the least, I don't have too many preconcieved notions anymore, but on the other hand, I've found people in each culture who tend to live up (down?) to the stereo-types. For instance, one Jewish boss hates the other for being the total sterotypical "Jew" and "lawyer". You get the idea. But, the one thing that always holds true, the few sterotypical a-holes never represent the majority, and that's my mantra.
